The Lows
It all begins with an idea.
Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR, Cardinals )
Harrison’s talent is obvious, but the way he’s being used in Arizona’s system raises concerns. His route tree looks limited, and in Week 3 the issues stood out a dropped schemed play that could’ve gone for a big gain combined with several missed chances from Kyler Murray. The result has been uneven production: over the last two games, he’s hauled in only five of 11 targets for 71 yards while running about 30 routes per game, averaging just 6.1 fantasy points. That’s a stark contrast from Week 1, when he exploded for 18.1 points against the Saints by flashing his big-play ability and scoring a touchdown. The flashes are real, but until the consistency catches up, Harrison remains a boom-or-bust WR3 in Year 2.
Cam Ward (QB, Titans)
Ahead of the 2024 season, Hardegree was brought on as Callahan’s quarterbacks coach, but his experience calling NFL offensive plays is extremely limited, having only stepped into that role with the Raiders in 2023 after Josh McDaniels and OC Joe Lombardi were fired midseason. Still, the Titans clearly needed a shake-up. Entering Week 4, Tennessee ranks near the bottom of the league in nearly every offensive category: 31st in total yards per game, 32nd in touchdowns scored, 32nd in passing yards, and 32nd in sacks allowed. There’s little room to fall further, meaning any improvement could be notable. Rookie No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward has struggled accordingly, averaging just 8.4 fantasy points per game through three weeks and sitting as fantasy’s QB36. Ward has shown glimpses of the talent that made him the top pick, but he has also reminded fans that he is still a rookie—he’s taken a league-high 15 sacks already, while facing a Texans defense that averages nine sacks per game. This puts him in a precario
Ashton Jenty (RB, Raiders)
What is going on with Jenty? Although he does get a favorable matchup versus the Bears, who allow 5.5 yards per carry, but until Chip Kelly gets the offense moving, Jeanty remains an inconsistent RB2 despite his weekly volume of nearly 16 carries. Heading into Week 4, Jeanty is only averaging 8.6 fantasy points per game, far below his top-12 draft hype. The Raiders’ run game has struggled, with Jeanty gaining just 1.02 yards per carry before contact (43rd in the league) and catching five of six targets for only three yards. The signs of a dynasty RB is clearly shown by is astounding 101% total yards are all from after contact…
